NOVA Geophysical Services is seeking a motivated full-time Geophysicist with experience in near-surface and applied geophysics. The successful candidate will contribute to a wide range of projects focused on ground-penetrating radar (GPR), electromagnetic (EM), and electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) data collection and processing.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct field surveys including:
Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) investigations to locate and identify underground utilities.
Geophysical Engineering Surveys (GES) to detect subsurface anomalies, structures, foundations, footings, and underground storage tanks (USTs).
Identification and mapping of reinforced materials such as rebar.
Perform data processing, interpretation, and visualization of GPR, EM, and ERT data.
Prepare technical reports, maps, and presentations summarizing findings.
Operate company vehicles equipped with laptops and field tablets to perform on-site data acquisition.
Work outdoors in various weather and terrain conditions while deploying geophysical instruments safely and effectively.
Qualifications:
B.S. degree in Geophysics, Geology, or related field.
0–5 years of relevant work experience (entry-level applicants encouraged).
Strong computer and data management skills.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
OSHA 30/40-hour HAZMAT certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Additional Assets (Preferred):
Familiarity with AutoCAD, GIS, or similar mapping tools.
Experience working in urban and semi-urban environments.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
