What You'll Do
As our Field Marketing Strategist, you'll be the marketing powerhouse behind both new restaurant launches and existing location growth. Your impact will be felt across our entire franchise network as you:
Drive Market Entry & Growth
- Conduct strategic market research and competitive analysis to identify optimal expansion opportunities
- Design and execute customized marketing strategies for new restaurant openings that create buzz and build brand awareness
- Develop market entry plans that set franchisees up for immediate and long-term success
- Stay ahead of QSR industry trends and local market dynamics to keep us competitive
Lead Franchise Support & Consultation
- Serve as the go-to marketing expert for franchisees through pre-opening, grand opening, and post-opening phases
- Deliver hands-on, tailored guidance that empowers franchise owners to succeed in their local markets
- Build strong relationships with franchise partners through consistent, strategic marketing support
Execute High-Impact Events & Campaigns
- Plan and manage grand openings, anniversary celebrations, ownership transitions, and community events
- Coordinate promotional campaigns, giveaways, and local activations that strengthen customer engagement
- Ensure all events align with brand standards while creating memorable experiences that drive traffic
Optimize Marketing Investment & ROI
- Collaborate with franchisees to develop realistic marketing budgets and set clear ROI targets
- Analyze campaign performance and provide actionable recommendations for continuous improvement
- Ensure efficient allocation of marketing resources that deliver measurable results
Localize National Campaigns
- Adapt corporate marketing strategies to fit unique cultural and media landscapes of individual markets
- Maintain brand integrity while ensuring campaigns resonate with local consumers
- Balance national brand consistency with regional relevance
Provide Strategic Market Oversight
- Conduct regular restaurant visits (in-person and virtual) to evaluate performance and identify growth opportunities
- Deliver actionable recommendations based on KPIs, market feedback, and competitive insights
- Monitor restaurant execution of marketing initiatives and provide course corrections as needed
Lead Regional Marketing Collaboration
- Provide leadership to regional advertising co-ops on media planning, budget preparation, and strategy
- Lead discussions on national and regional marketing programs that drive systemwide results
- Foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing among franchise partners
Partner with Corporate Leadership
- Work closely with corporate marketing, Franchise Business Consultants, and leadership team to ensure cohesive strategies
- Participate in strategic planning sessions and contribute to brand-wide marketing initiatives
- Bridge the gap between corporate vision and franchise execution
Stay Ahead of Marketing Trends
- Monitor the latest in traditional and digital marketing, applying insights to enhance strategies
- Continuously refine grand opening playbooks, regional campaigns, and promotional tactics
- Bring fresh, innovative ideas that keep Port of Subs ahead of the competition
Who You Are
You're a marketing pro with QSR DNA. You've launched restaurants, managed grand openings, and know how to drive sales through strategic, locally-relevant marketing that works in the real world.
Must-haves:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in market entry strategies, grand opening management, or field marketing within the QSR industry (non-negotiable)
- Prior experience with both corporate and franchise operations strongly preferred
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook for analysis, reporting, and presentations
- Proven analytical and strategic planning skills - you can interpret market data and create actionable strategies
- Excellent project management abilities with a track record of executing complex, multi-faceted initiatives
- Outstanding communication and collaboration skills - you can work seamlessly with franchisees, corporate teams, and external partners
- Digital marketing proficiency including social media, local SEO, email campaigns, and digital advertising
- Event management experience including grand openings, promotional events, and community activations
- Deep understanding of franchise dynamics and how to support independent business owners
- Problem-solving creativity - you find innovative solutions to marketing and operational challenges
- Ability to work independently while thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Positive, relationship-focused attitude - you build trust and rapport with franchisees and partners
- Passion for the QSR industry and consumer behavior insights
