Field Mechanic

We are looking for a Field Mechanic to join our team and support the Agricultural Ingredients business in Livingston, California. In this position, you will be responsible for providing maintenance, mechanical, and supervisory support to the field operations. Ensuring the safe operation of field equipment through the proper overhaul, maintenance and transportation of all field equipment. This position is shop based however will require travel to provide support to Field Operations as needed. Maintains shop and equipment in good safe efficient conditions, with special care to critical equipment.

What you’ll do:

• Perform all levels of repairs to include welding, fabrication, and run a lathe to make proper equipment repairs
• Experience working on field equipment, trucks, and diesel engines. Conducts repairs aiming for maximum reliability. Tests overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency
• Participate in root cause analysis investigations on repeat equipment/process failures for continued improvement
• Plans work procedures and/or possible solutions such as part redesign, substitution of material or parts and rearrangement of parts or subassemblies
• This position is expected to maintain ongoing contact with the maintenance manager/superintendent, maintenance coordinator, harvest supervisors, equipment operators, low bed drivers and other maintenance staff as needed to ensure clear and effective communication regarding job activities. May be expected to have some periodic contact with suppliers and vendors as directed

What you’ll bring:

• Skilled, highly motivated self-starter who is able to think independently, yet work as a team player
• At least five years of experience as a Field Mechanic. Technical degree is a plus
• Carry strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Great attitude and customer service skills. Ability to collaborate with operations team and prioritize work for the team
• Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required

Sensient Agricultural Ingredients is one of the largest producers and distributors in the world of dehydrated onion and garlic products as well as chili powder, paprika, chili pepper and dehydrated vegetables such as parsley, celery, and spinach. These ingredients are used in many of today's popular convenience foods. The Agricultural Ingredients unit is located in Livingston, California.

The hourly pay for this position is $33.12 USD. Pay within the range is based on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, specialized training, and labor market conditions. In addition to salary, Sensient is proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits program to support the holistic well-being of our employees and their families. This position is also eligible for performance-based incentive pay.
