Heavy Machinery Mechanic

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of bucket and digger trucks to ensure optimal performance and longevity
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in a timely and efficient manner
• Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment, following manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices
• Collaborate with the equipment management team to maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance schedules
• Troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues that may arise during construction projects
• Keep abreast of industry developments and technological advancements related to bucket and digger truck mechanics
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Proven experience as a mechanic with a focus on bucket and digger trucks.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and convey information to superiors.
• Certification in diesel mechanics or a related field is preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license; Class A CDL is a plus
• Must be willing to work overtime as needed
• Must be willing to travel out of state as needed

Education and Experience:

• Must have previous mig welding experience
• Must have previous experience operating a cutting torch
• 1-2 years of related experience is required

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

• Ability to lift heavy equipment parts and tools (up to 40 lbs)
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and stand to operate and repair heavy equipment.
• Must be able to work in all types of weather, including extremely hot and extremely cold temperatures.
