Field Operations Coordinator

About the role

Caveman Technology Group installs and services advanced security systems, surveillance, access control, networking, fiber, telecom, Starlink, and integrated technology solutions across Southern Oregon.

The Field Operations Coordinator is the logistics backbone of everything that happens in the field, ensuring our technicians are in the right place, with the right parts, with the right information, every time. This is an operational execution role: scheduling, dispatch, workload balance, parts coordination, and making sure every job closes right the first time.

Our technicians work independently across Southern Oregon as independent contractors, covering IP cameras, NVR systems, access control, fire alarm systems, structured cabling, IoT devices, drone surveillance, and electrified perimeter security (indoors, outdoors, on rooftops, and in industrial environments), etc. You don't need to be certified in these systems, but you need to understand them well enough to assign the right tech, prep the right parts, and anticipate what can go wrong before it does.

Core responsibilities

Technician Scheduling & Dispatch

  • Schedule and dispatch technicians based on job type, location, and availability
  • Ensure each technician receives complete job information before dispatch
  • Manage day-of scheduling changes and technician availability

Field Operations Coordination

  • Track technician workload and job progress across Southern Oregon
  • Monitor technician utilization and installation timelines
  • Identify scheduling gaps and capacity issues early

Job Tracking & Documentation

  • Maintain job status tracking in Trello or similar workflow systems
  • Document job outcomes and technician notes for operations and billing
  • Coordinate with the back office team on completed jobs and follow-up

Parts & Inventory Coordination

  • Ensure technicians leave with the correct parts and materials
  • Coordinate inventory staging from the Grants Pass office
  • Help identify frequently used materials and ordering needs

Continuous Improvement

  • Track patterns such as repeat visits or installation delays
  • Help improve dispatch processes and operational efficiency

What we're looking for (Required)

  • 2+ years in field dispatch, crew scheduling, or operations coordination; installation or field services environment strongly preferred
  • Low Energy LE(A) license in the state of Oregon
  • Ability to manage multiple technicians across a wide, dispersed territory simultaneously
  • Functional understanding of security systems, networking, or low-voltage work, enough to assign jobs intelligently and anticipate what each job needs
  • Strong organisational discipline, able to understand Trello, job boards, or similar tracking tools
  • Calm and decisive under pressure; able to solve scheduling problems in real time without escalating everything
  • Southern Oregon geography knowledge

(Would be nice if you had)

  • Hands-on background in security, low-voltage, telecom, AV, or networking; either as a technician or coordinator
  • Familiarity with alarm systems
  • Experience managing independent contractor workforces
  • Knowing any of these is a plus! HubSpot, Trello, or Google Workspace experience
