Field Operator

Job Summary:

The Field Operator ((Power Plant) is responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the power plant field equipment which include Gas Turbines, HRSG’s and Steam Turbines, Generators, associated auxiliary equipment and connection equipment to the GIS, in accordance with OEM recommendations, company policies and procedures in the shift that is assigned time to time reports to control room engineer and shift charge engineer as and when required on regular basis during the shift operations.

The Field operator is responsible in coordinating with the control room engineer during the shift operations and ensures safe and reliable operations during normal, start-up, shut down and emergencies as applicable.

The field operator is responsible for ensuring the equipment availability during the shift operations and coordinate with control room engineer and shift charge engineers during the issue and normalization of PTW and record accordingly.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

· Ensure the safe, reliable and efficient field operations of the plant equipment to achieve plant goals taking into consideration, OEM recommendations, Company procedures and industry best practices.

· Monitors the operation, makes frequent visual inspections, checks for abnormal conditions and operators the generating plant including all auxiliary equipment.

· Takes direction from the control room engineer during normal plant operations, start- ups shutdowns and emergency situations.

· Operates all applicable plant systems and equipment which cannot be operated remotely through the DCS controls.

· Isolates equipment for Lockout/ Tag out as directed and will assist the shift charge engineer in the preparation of permits of work.

· Assist the startup and commissioning of power plant equipment.

· Shall ensure smooth field operations under the shift and handle emergency situations in coordination with control room engineer and shift charge engineer.

· Shall support in the mobilization, pre- commissioning, commissioning and operations phases of the company in coordination with other parties involved as required by the management.

· Promptly report to the control room engineer / shift charge engineer whenever:

ü There is abnormality in filed equipment, however trivial it is

ü If there is an incident, plant and machinery, people or the environment.

ü Deviation arising in implementing the set standards and procedures for smooth, Safe and efficient plant operations.

· Strictly follow operations procedures, check sheets as laid down and adhere to policies and procedures of company.

· Ensure proper feedback to control room engineer and shift charge engineer is provided as part of periodical updating of the operations procedures to reflect the latest requirements specified by OEM, industry best practices and project agreements.

· Ensure to work

ü In a safe and professional manner and in accordance with established procedures.

ü Ina manner which will achieve the optimum efficiency and availability without compromising safety and reliability.

· During the shift operations, analyze plant operating problems and contribute to root cause analysis of problems in coordination with control room engineer and shift charge engineer.

· Coordinate with control room engineer and shift charge engineer to achieve optimal chemical regime during the shift operations.

· Support company initiatives like IMS implementation from time to time.

· Regularly report to shift charge engineer during the shift operations and support in preparing and maintain daily reports.

· Carry out any other tasks as directed by the plant management from time to time.

Knowledge and Skill Requirement

· Have demonstrated working knowledge of equipment, methods and materials used in operation and familiar with maintenance of large power plants.

· Have demonstrated working knowledge of theory and relationships between components of the power plant facility.

· Have demonstrated coordination between field and control room in complex situations.

· Have demonstrated effective communication among various personnel in shift operations.

Key competencies:

· Ability to demonstrate excellent monitoring of plant field equipment healthiness, various operating parameters, protections.

· Ability to demonstrate knowledge in handling plant start-up, shut down and emergencies in field.

· Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and effective working relationships to facilitate and attain the objectives and goals of the company.

· ability to manage tight deadlines, heavy workload and deliverables.

· ability to communicate and engage effectively with all the personnel in O&M while in the shift.

Education:

1. Engineering degree in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Instrumentation is required / Diploma with longer experience could be considered.

2. Possess working knowledge of MS office programs (Word, Excel, Power point etc)

Experience:

A Minimum of 5+ Years of applicable work experience in power plant operations in the specific field.

Pay: AED10,000.00 - AED14,000.00 per month
