Field Service Engineer

Service Engineer — QC Material Testing Equipment (Electrical or Mechanical)

SALARY: 2,500 AED

Role summary

2-3 years Experienced electrical or mechanical service engineer to join a quality-control material testing equipment manufacturer’s Dubai office. Responsible for installation, commissioning, preventive and corrective maintenance, calibration, customer training, and field support for EnvironmentalChambers, UTM, hardness testers, metallography prep, OES, and related laboratory systems.

Key responsibilities

• Installation & commissioning of new material testing systems at customer sites.
• Troubleshooting & repair: diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control faults; implement fixes on-site.
• Calibration & validation: perform and document calibrations, generate service and calibration certificates.
• Preventive maintenance & AMC: execute scheduled maintenance, capture and renew annual maintenance contracts.
• Customer training: deliver operator and maintenance training to lab technicians and QA teams.
• Technical documentation: create clear service reports, spare-parts recommendations, and failure analyses.
• Spare parts & inventory: advise on spares, assist logistics for parts replacement.
• Cross-team feedback: relay product issues and improvement suggestions to engineering and product teams.

Required qualifications and skills

• Education: Bachelor’s or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Instrumentation engineering.
• Experience: 2–3 years in field service or maintenance of laboratory or industrial testing equipment; experience with material testing machines is preferred.
• Technical skills: PLCs; AC/DC drives and VFDs; sensors and transducers; basic pneumatics/hydraulics; electrical wiring and fault-finding; reading mechanical drawings.
• Hands-on: soldering, multimeter/insulation tester use, alignment, mechanical adjustments.
• Software: familiarity with control software, Windows-based instrument software, basic MS Office.
• Communication: English fluency; clear technical reporting and customer-facing skills.
• Mobility & work style: UAE driving license preferred; willingness to work on-site and occasionally outside Dubai; customer-focused, able to work independently.

Preferred / differentiators

• Prior experience with tensile testers, hardness testers, metallography prep, optical emission spectrometers, or thermal analysis equipment.
• Calibration knowledge to ISO/ASTM standards.
• Vocational certification or manufacturer training on specific brands.
• Arabic language skills.

Package, location, and hours

• Location: Dubai office with regular field visits across UAE/GCC.
• Employment type: Full-time, on-site with field assignments.
• Package: AED 2,500+ allowances; medical insurance; annual leave; training and certification support; performance bonus and annual ticket (company dependent).
