Candidates must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Position Overview

United Protective Services is seeking a dependable and professional Field Training Officer (FTO) to support the onboarding, coaching, and continued development of Security Officers across various client locations. This position plays a key role in ensuring officers understand post expectations, company standards, patrol duties, reporting procedures, and client-specific protocols while maintaining a safe and professional environment for tenants, visitors, and property assets.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Train newly assigned Security Officers on post orders, daily responsibilities, and site procedures
  • Provide guidance on patrol operations, access control, emergency response, and customer service expectations
  • Conduct practical training related to report writing, radio usage, communication skills, and professional conduct
  • Observe trainee performance and provide constructive feedback, coaching, and corrective instruction when necessary
  • Accurately complete training reports, evaluations, and required documentation in a timely manner
  • Lead by example through professional appearance, punctuality, attendance, and work ethic
  • Assist Operations Management in identifying officer development needs and additional training opportunities
  • Respond appropriately to incidents, alarms, emergencies, and tenant concerns while mentoring assigned personnel
  • Ensure officers are following company policies, client expectations, and site safety procedures
  • Maintain consistent communication with management regarding trainee progress, concerns, and recommendations

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to train professionally and effectively
  • Lives within a reasonable distance of assigned properties and training locations
