Position Summary

The Field Training Specialist supports multi-unit operations by developing, coaching, and elevating General Managers and in-store leaders across assigned markets. This role focuses on building operational consistency, strengthening food cost controls, developing Certified Trainers, and ensuring successful execution of all New Restaurant Openings (NROs).
You’re the on-the-ground partner who creates strong operators, tight systems, and repeatable training standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Manager & Leadership Training

  • Conduct in-store training sessions focused on operations, leadership presence, and business acumen.
  • Coach GMs on labor management, food cost controls, accuracy, guest experience, and daily operational routines.
  • Validate GM readiness through observations, follow-ups, and performance reviews.
  • Support development of AGMs, Shift Leads, and Managers-in-Training to build a strong internal pipeline.

Food Cost & Operational Performance

  • Train GMs and BOH leaders on proper portioning, ordering, prep systems, waste management, and Smart Kitchen usage.
  • Analyze food cost trends with operators and implement corrective training plans.
  • Ensure compliance with Wingstop brand standards, Flavor Lab requirements, and operational systems.

Train-the-Trainer Development

  • Identify, train, and validate Certified Trainers in each market.
  • Facilitate Train-the-Trainer workshops focused on Tell–Show–Do–Review methodology.
  • Maintain certification records and ensure each store has the required number of qualified trainers.
  • Coach trainers on leadership presence, communication skills, and effective adult learning techniques.

New Restaurant Openings (NROs)

  • Serve as lead trainer or support trainer during all NROs.
  • Coordinate training schedules, station assignments, and deployment charts.
  • Ensure new teams understand Wingstop standards and are launch-ready on Day 1.
  • Partner with Operations, HR, and Marketing to ensure smooth pre-opening and post-opening follow-up.

Store-Level Support & Visits

  • Conduct structured field visits with recap documentation, action plans, and follow-up timelines.
  • Support underperforming locations with targeted retraining in guest service, BOH execution, and leadership accountability.
  • Provide hands-on support during rollouts (Smart Kitchen, LTOs, operational updates, etc.).

Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Collaborate with District Managers, Directors of Operations, and company training teams to align on standards.
  • Communicate training results, opportunities, and wins through clear reporting and weekly updates.
  • Uphold Wingstop brand culture and Serve the World Flavor standards at all times.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of restaurant leadership experience (GM or above strongly preferred).
  • Experience training teams in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Strong understanding of labor, food cost, and operational KPIs.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and coaching skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly across assigned markets.
  • NRO or multi-unit training experience is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
