FIELD_SUPPORT.QA/QC ENGINEER I

Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia

Responsible for ensuring quality and compliance in fabrication, assembly, and inspection of Top Drive, Catwalk, and Casing Drive systems. Conducts welding inspections, WPS reviews, vendor coordination, and prepares technical reports. Supports API Q1 Audits, root cause analysis, and process improvement initiatives.


  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or nine plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

  • Minimum 7 Years experience in the field of oil and Gas.


  • Quality Planning : Prepare quality plans and implement in coordination with departments.

  • Inspection & Testing: Conduct Receiving, in-process and Final inspection for Top drive , catwalk, casing driving system and witness the factory acceptance test.

  • Vendor & Sub-Contractor Management: Inspect, approve, and audit vendors and sub-contractors; support vendor development and qualification

  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare data books, Inspection Release Notes (IRN), and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR); perform root cause analysis for quality issues.

  • After Market & Sales; Support customers by providing technical assistance with construction material and

  • Calibration; Responsible for ensuring availability of calibrated tools on shop floor operations.

  • Deviation Request Co-Ordination ; Co-ordinate with Engineering for approval of materials substitution and exemptions proposed by vendor through VTQ system for part fabrication and servicing.

  • Welding Oversight & WPS Review: Review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and ensure welding activities comply with approved procedures and codes; conduct welding inspections and monitor welding quality. Review the WPS and PQR from the supplier for the supplier qualification.

  • Audit Preparation: Prepare and verify the relevant project document along with QA/QC inspector for the readiness.

  • The employee has the necessary authority to make decisions within their scope of work and escalate issues as needed and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure operational effectiveness.

  • The employee is accountable for the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of their work, as well as for reporting any non-conformities or risks that may impact quality, legal compliances, safety, environment, or customer satisfaction.
