Skilled Caterpillar Mechanic with a minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing Caterpillar heavy equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure optimal performance of machinery


  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Two years relevant experience in the oil field sector or if there is no experience, technical diploma is a must

    • At least 3 years of experience as Caterpillar Engine Technician

  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Mechanic or Electrician diploma

    • Electrical background is an asset

    • PLC controls experience is an asset


Maintenance & Repair

  • Have all the knowledge needed to rebuild CAT3512 engines

  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using Caterpillar diagnostic tools.

  • Conduct repairs and component replacements to restore equipment functionality.

Inspection & Testing

  • Carry out thorough inspections to identify wear, damage, or potential failures.

  • Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer standards.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all safety protocols and company policies during repair and maintenance activities.

  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation for compliance and reporting.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with operations and maintenance teams .

  • Provide technical support and training to junior mechanics when required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic, specifically with Caterpillar machinery.

  • Strong knowledge of Caterpillar diagnostic software (e.g., CAT ET).

  • Proficiency in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

  • Technical certification in heavy equipment mechanics (preferred).

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Work Environment

  • Workshop and field-based role with exposure to heavy machinery.

  • Requires physical stamina and ability to lift heavy parts/tools.

  • Occasional overtime or weekend work depending on project needs.
