Finance and Accounting Manager

Status: Full time

Location: Remote

Compensation: $75,000-$100,000

THE POSITION
KAA is seeking a highly capable Finance & Accounting Manager to own and execute the company’s day-to-day financial operations while helping build the financial infrastructure needed to support continued growth. This may also include some work with KAA’s interconnected assets.

This role sits at the intersection of execution and strategy. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate books, running payroll, and ensuring clean financial reporting—but also for improving systems, identifying inefficiencies, and supporting leadership with financial insights and decision-making.

The ideal candidate is both detail-obsessed and forward-thinking—someone who can operate with precision while also contributing to how financial operations evolve as the company grows.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Accounting & Operations

  • Own and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and reconciliations

Financial Oversight & Support

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Support leadership with financial insights to inform business decisions
  • Monitor financial performance and flag risks, inefficiencies, or anomalies

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve financial workflows and systems
  • Help implement and maintain scalable financial processes as the company grows
  • Evaluate interconnected assets as they relate to company and CEO’s finances
  • Ensure clean, organized, and audit-ready financial operations

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with leadership, operations, and external partners
  • Communicate with vendors, contractors, clients, and internal stakeholders as needed
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for leadership review
  • Manage and process payroll for W2 employees (semimonthly) and 1099 contractors
  • Oversee expense tracking, reimbursements, and financial documentation
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or bookkeeping roles
  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel
  • Experience managing payroll for both employees and contractors
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills in a remote environment
  • Ability to both execute and think critically about financial operations
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on improving systems and processes
  • Clear communicator with the ability to translate financial data into insights
  • High level of ownership and accountability
