Finance Assistant - Payroll Clerk/Money Counter

Payroll Clerk / Money Counter

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Clerk / Money Counter with working knowledge of FLSA and payroll practices to process biweekly payroll and handle financial operations for our fixed route and shared ride programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process biweekly payroll, including time review, adjustments, and FLSA compliance
  • Audit and reconcile timekeeping records, payroll data, and deductions
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies
  • Maintain payroll records and assist with audits
  • Coordinate with Human Resources on employee changes and payroll updates
  • Count and verify daily revenue, fares, and tickets from drivers
  • Prepare bank deposits and generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports
  • Provide general administrative support (data entry, mail handling, supply ordering)

Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 2 years of payroll or accounting support experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of payroll processes and FLSA compliance required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and confidentiality

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required to drive company vehicles
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform general office tasks
