Finance Associate - Asia Payroll

As a Finance Payroll Associate, you will manage end-to-end payroll operations for Asia to ensure accurate and timely salary processing and statutory compliance.

    YOUR IMPACT

    You will collect and validate payroll inputs (new hires, terminations, salary changes, LOA, etc.) from local offices to update payroll system and ensure data accuracy before each payroll cycle.

    You will generate and review payroll reports (pay register, variance reports) prior to payroll release. You will coordinate payroll release with local teams and maintain payroll records and backups.

    You will review and process statutory deductions (tax, social security, retirement contributions, etc.). You will prepare and file statutory reports and ensure timely remittance of payroll-related liabilities. You will ensure compliance with local payroll regulations and internal controls.

    You will maintain and update employee records (bank details, tax information, addresses). You will administer payroll-related benefits and offshore payroll instructions. You will respond to payroll queries from employees and HR in a timely manner.

    You will record payroll costs and support payroll-related accounting entries and reconciliations. You will support payroll system enhancements, testing, and implementation projects across Asia. You will identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency.

    You will be based in our Chennai office and be part of the Global Payroll team. You will work closely with local office accounting teams, HR partners, firm colleagues, and the applications support team to ensure smooth and accurate payroll operations.

    YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

    • 2+ years of payroll experience handling a minimum of two Asian countries
    • Good understanding of basic accounting and payroll processes
    • Experience supporting payroll system changes or transformation projects, including system testing and checking data accuracy
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numbers accurately
    • Good problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Comfortable using Microsoft Office, especially Excel (e.g., formulas, data review, basic reporting)
    • Ability to manage deadlines and handle multiple payroll cycles at the same time
    • Knowledge of payroll compliance, tax rules, and statutory requirements in Asia
    • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential employee information
    • Good written and spoken communication skills, and able to work well with HR, Finance, and other teams
