We are looking for a detail-oriented Finance & Commercial Modelling Analyst with experience in the aviation industry to support financial planning, forecasting, and strategic decision-making. The role involves creating, maintaining, and analyzing financial and commercial models for aviation operations, evaluating business performance, and generating insights that drive profitability, operational efficiency, and fleet/route optimization. Strong financial expertise, advanced Excel skills, and prior experience in aviation finance, commercial planning, or corporate finance are highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Financial & Commercial Modelling
- Design, maintain, and refine aviation-specific financial and commercial models, including route profitability, fleet planning, aircraft utilization, and cost-per-flight-hour analyses.
- Build financial models to support business planning, investment decisions, and strategic aviation projects.
- Prepare accurate financial forecasts, budgets, and scenario analyses incorporating operational, commercial, and market data.
Performance Analysis
- Analyze aviation business performance, including revenues, operating costs, yields, load factors, and profitability metrics.
- Evaluate commercial initiatives, such as new routes, codeshare agreements, ground handling contracts, leasing options, and fuel cost impacts.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to aviation operations and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Strategic & Commercial Support
- Provide financial insights to support strategic initiatives, including fleet expansion, aircraft leasing, contract negotiations, and commercial planning.
- Assess the financial viability of aviation projects, including CAPEX and OPEX evaluations.
- Prepare clear and concise financial reports and presentations for senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with finance, operations, commercial planning, procurement, engineering, and airport services teams to collect data and validate assumptions.
- Ensure accuracy and reliability of all financial inputs, operational data, and model outputs.
Risk & Opportunity Management
- Identify financial risks and commercial opportunities affecting aviation operations.
- Recommend data-driven solutions to optimize operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance profitability.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Aviation Management, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in financial analysis, aviation commercial modelling, or corporate finance (experience in the aviation sector preferred).
- Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and financial modelling techniques.
- Familiarity with financial planning tools or ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, etc.) is a plus.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex financial insights to non-finance stakeholders.
