Finance & Grants Coordinator (Part-Time with Opportunity for Full-Time)

Tri-County OIC is seeking an experienced and highly organized Finance & Grants Coordinator to support the daily financial operations of our nonprofit organization. This position is ideal for an experienced bookkeeper or nonprofit finance professional who enjoys creating organized financial systems and ensuring compliance with grant and funding requirements.

This position has the potential to become full-time based on organizational needs and performance.

Position Summary

The Finance & Grants Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, reconciling bank accounts, supporting grant financial management, preparing reports, and assisting with annual audits. The successful candidate must be detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain strict confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3–5 years of bookkeeping or nonprofit financial management experience
  • Experience using QuickBooks required
  • Experience processing payroll
  • Experience with nonprofit accounting preferred
  • Experience with grant management and reimbursement reporting
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must successfully pass all required background clearances

Primary Responsibilities

  • Record daily financial transactions
  • Process payroll accurately and on time
  • Prepare and reconcile bank accounts monthly
  • Maintain the general ledger
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports
  • Assist with grant budgets, expenditures, reimbursement requests, and financial reporting
  • Organize documentation for audits and grant monitoring visits
  • Maintain financial files and supporting documentation
  • Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting
  • Monitor grant spending to ensure compliance
  • Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and federal, state, and grant regulations
  • Work closely with management, auditors, and funding agencies
  • Recommend improvements to strengthen financial systems and internal controls
