Finance Lead
Job Summary
Reporting to the Business Manager, the Finance Lead, in collaboration with Admin staff, will provide detailed financial analysis and reporting while continuously evaluating and improving accounting practices. The Finance Lead will work to adapt the processes and systems needed to support continued company development and growth. This position will be responsible for the financial characteristics of the organization, including all accounting, insurance, and risk management, in accordance with GAAP and the corporation’s adopted procedures. This position requires a self- motivated approach to getting things done, together with the ability to work well with other members of the management team.
Essential Functions:
- All activities are conducted in compliance with all guidelines, policies, procedures, and protocols established or generally accepted by Alaska Chadux Network (ACN).
- Serve as staff support to the President/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on financial matters.
- Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow for administration, existing programs, and future programs.
- Responsible for maintaining corporate financial records.
- Provide timely financial management reports to the President/CEO and department heads to allow for management against budget targets.
- Maintains general ledger, monthly account reconciliations and assists in the preparation of required governmental reports (IRS Form 990, payroll tax, unemployment reporting, etc.).
- Monitor investment portfolio performance and work with President/CEO and outside advisor to assure adherence with policy.
- Monitor company financial activities for adherence to Financial Management Manual policies, including financial authority levels, contract requirements, and invoicing practices.
- Prepare a draft annual budget.
- Coordinate and prepare for audit activities.
- Communicate professionally with vendors, customers, staff, and board members.
- Effectively execute or oversee all accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, banking, etc.
- Maintain the financial management software system and associated dashboards.
- Responsibly delegate appropriate financial responsibilities to supporting Administrative Assistant.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- The Finance Lead will have at least five years of professional experience, including managing the finance and administration of an organization (preference given to nonprofit experience).
- Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team.
- Excellent communication skills are required. Applicant must be able to professionally communicate with vendors, clients, staff, and Board of Directors.
- Experience should include audit, compliance, budget, and financial risk management.
- Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies to meet business goals.
- Experience with Sage Intacct preferred.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Database experience preferred.
Working Conditions:
- This position is assigned within normal business hours, five days a week.
- Flexible scheduling and occasional remote work are allowed in some circumstances.

Salary:
- The Finance Lead is an exempt, salaried position.
- Salary range is between $105,000 and $125,000 annually, plus performance bonuses. Final salary will be based on applicant’s demonstrated skills and experience.
