Description
The Financial Controller is responsible for the financial planning & analysis required to drive the company’s business strategy. The Financial Controller will develop, maintain, and explain financial analysis results and models to the executive leadership team and will focus on strategies that help drive increased profitability, process efficiency, reduced costs, and overall business improvement.
- Review and conduct financial statement analysis, manage annual company budget, recurring forecasts, long-term projections, and strategic plans
- Develop and manage weekly and monthly analytical reports to allow for tracking of cost/revenue performance against plan and forecast; underbilling/overbilling analysis and cash flow analysis
- Calculate revenue on projects and margin for the company and manage WIP reports to determine percentage of completion and revise estimates
- Forecast revenue inflows based on start date and scope of each project and interface and coordinate with other functional areas within the company e.g. accounting, estimating and operations
- Review and recommend data entry methods to improve the accuracy of financial data and the efficiency of reporting
- Supervise all accounting activities, including account payables and account receivables, and track and ensure compliance with US GAAP, tax, and labor laws
- Support the processing of payroll, and ensure integrity in the bookkeeping process, and daily reconciliation of all bank accounts
- Assist in the implementation of multiple system integrations to establish sounds controls and the ability to measure the financial and operational outcomes of the business
- Implement and maintain policies and procedures for the finance and accounting department
- Prepare executive level summary reports and PowerPoint presentations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or professional certifications such as ACCA, CFA, or CA.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Finance or Accounting preferred
- Construction industry experience preferred
- Thorough knowledge of corporate finance, investment analysis, financial modeling. Familiarity with US accounting and tax
- Must have excellent communication skills, strong leadership skills, and a strong safety culture mindset
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with attention to detail
- Quick-learner, self-driven, and curious
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Suite
