Job Summary:
The Finance Manager will lead and manage the financial strategy, control framework, risk management, and regulatory compliance of the company. This role will be deeply involved in project-based financial modelling, cost control systems, subcontractor payment cycles, working capital optimization, and supporting the executive leadership in decision-making through accurate and timely financial reporting. The Finance Manager will ensure proper allocation and control of project funds while supporting sustainable growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire finance function including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, audit, tax, and treasury for all construction projects and corporate operations
- Develop and monitor project-wise budgets in coordination with project directors and ensure strict adherence to cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle
- Establish and continuously improve job cost tracking systems to ensure accurate project costing and variance analysis against budgets and BOQs
- Manage working capital efficiently including cash flow projections, collections from clients, timely payments to subcontractors and vendors, and optimization of credit terms
- Lead project-specific financial reviews to assess cost-to-completion, claims, EOTs (extension of time), and risk impact on profitability
- Structure financial strategies to support tender pricing decisions by coordinating with estimation and commercial departments to assess true project costs and overhead allocations
- Monitor bank facilities including overdrafts, performance bonds, advance payment guarantees, and ensure compliance with covenants and optimal utilization
- Manage relationships with banks, auditors, legal advisors, and ensure regulatory compliance with UAE laws, VAT regulations, ESR, and corporate tax requirements
- Ensure accurate financial closing and monthly MIS reporting with consolidated and project-level profit & loss statements, balance sheets, cash flows, and cost analysis
- Review, validate, and approve subcontractor and supplier payments after verification of actual work done and ensure alignment with project cash flow
- Design internal control systems to prevent revenue leakage, fraudulent payments, material pilferage, and ensure accountability in site-level financial practices
- Oversee payroll management, gratuity provisioning, end-of-service benefits, and ensure accurate cost allocation to projects
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for both operational and capital expenditures, aligning it with the company’s business strategy and pipeline of projects
- Analyze financial performance using KPIs like cost per square meter, EBITDA margin, ROIC, and suggest strategic changes to improve project-level profitability
- Implement ERP solutions (Oracle, SAP, or similar) aligned with the construction business needs, and continuously upgrade system processes for better cost control and reporting
- Manage project closure financial activities including final account reconciliation, retention releases, and closeout of bank guarantees
- Prepare board-level presentations, executive dashboards, and provide strategic inputs on expansion, JV structuring, or acquisitions based on financial feasibility
- Support legal and contracts team in dispute resolution, arbitration claims, and contract re-negotiations by providing financial documentation and impact assessments
