Role Description
We are seeking a proactive, hands-on Finance Manager to lead and manage financial operations across shipping, logistics, and international branch activities. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in maritime / shipping finance, including freight costing, voyage P&L, cross-border transactions, and financial controls. This role requires close coordination with operations teams, strong ERP system knowledge, and the ability to ensure financial accuracy, transparency, and compliance at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all financial activities for international and external branches
- Lead financial management, reporting, and month-end/year-end closing processes
- Monitor cross-border transactions for accuracy, compliance, and timely execution
- Manage payroll, benefits, and financial documentation for international staff
- Perform financial reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Maintain audit readiness with accurate and organized financial records
- Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, banks, and regulatory authorities
- Implement and enforce strong financial controls and ensure compliance with UAE and international regulations
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, cash flow forecasts, and variance analyses
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for global operations
- Oversee ocean freight procurement costs, including freight rates, port charges, demurrage, detention, and carrier invoices
- Collaborate with operations and shipping teams to optimize freight costs and improve profitability
- Analyze shipping and logistics costs and recommend cost-saving and efficiency improvements
- Lead and guide international finance teams, ensuring consistency in reporting standards
- Utilize and manage ERP and accounting systems such as Odoo, Zoho Books, and related platforms
Requirements
- Bachelor’s / Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in finance or accounting within the Shipping & Logistics / Maritime industry
- Strong knowledge of shipping operations and terminology (demurrage, detention, laytime, time charter, in-gate, exit entry, voyage accounting)
- Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
- Strong understanding of IFRS and financial compliance
- Hands-on experience with Odoo, Zoho Books, or similar ERP systems
- Experience handling international branches and cross-border financial operations
- Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, operations-driven environment
- Arabic & English language skills mandatory
