For over 75 years, The Outing Club has been the heartbeat of the Greater Kearsarge community, connecting people, promoting wellness, and creating lifelong memories. Founded in 1947 as The New London Outing Club, we have grown into a thriving hub for socialization, recreation, and personal growth — expanding in 2021 to include The Outing Club at Mountainside, offering tennis, pickleball, fitness, and personal training. We are dedicated to fostering a sense of belonging, offering diverse programs, and providing opportunities for growth for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Our Mission: To provide sports, recreational, social, educational, and wellness programs and activities to the greater Kearsarge area community.

Position Overview

The Finance Manager will play a critical role in the day-to-day financial operations of The Outing Club. This individual will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing bookkeeping functions, analyzing cash flow, and serving as a key financial resource for Board Members. As a member of our leadership team, the Finance Manager plays a critical role in long term sustainability through daily financial management and an opportunity to inform long term planning. The ideal candidate brings a hands-on approach, a sharp eye for detail, an understanding of the community served by the OC,and a genuine enthusiasm for contributing to a mission-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities

● Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.

● Monitor and analyze cash flow on an ongoing basis, identifying trends and providing actionable insights to leadership.

● Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for Board Members, presenting findings along with recommendations in a clear and accessible manner.

● Maintain and manage financial data within QuickBooks Online (QBO) and the Mountainside management system.

● Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and implement improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy.

● Collaborate with staff and Board Members to ensure financial transparency and alignment with organizational goals.

● Support annual budgeting processes and assist with audit preparation as needed.

● Ensure compliance with non-profit financial regulations and best practices.

● Provide data to inform long-term financial planning.

Qualifications

Required:

● Demonstrated experience in bookkeeping or financial management, ideally within a non-profit or small organization setting.

● Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO).

● Background in non-profit accounting or familiarity with fund accounting principles.

● Strong understanding of cash flow management and financial reporting.

● Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in all financial work.

● Highly organized, efficient, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently.

● Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

● Collaborative and flexible team player who adapts well to a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

Preferred:

● Experience with private club management software, or a demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new platforms quickly.

● Experience working with or reporting to a Board of Directors.

● Experience implementing process improvements within a financial or administrative function.
