Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Finance Director, the Finance Manager plays a key role in supporting the financial health and mission of St. Andrew Methodist Church. This position manages daily accounting operations, ensures accuracy and compliance, and provides excellent service to staff and ministry leaders. The Finance Manager is detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about using their skills to support ministry impact.
Essential Functions
- Manage accounts receivable, contributions, deposits, and reconciliation
- Manage accounts payable, reimbursements, and journal entries
- Maintain accurate financial records and support monthly reporting
- Assist with audit preparation
- Support annual budget planning and financial analysis
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain vendor files and assist with contract administration
- Prepare financial reports and documentation for ministries
- Ensure compliance with church policies and accounting procedures
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Generosity and Finance teams
- Collaborate with staff and ministry leaders to support church operations
- Manage Invite Ministries Bookkeeping
- Assist with Columbarium processes
- Maintain a positive relationship with bank representatives
- Audit donor contributions; Process contribution gift corrections
- Responsible for bank reconciliations monthly; account and project account reconciliations
- Reconcile monthly securities accounts, invoice partner ministries, and organizations
- Manage square devices, cash boxes, money bags, etc.
- Manage/maintain scanning and filing of deposits, posting journals, general ledgers, etc.
- Assist with processing online giving, and visitors or members access to giving account login
- Assist with picking up mail, processing and sorting of mail
- Serve as backup for Finance Assistants and Finance Director as needed
- Work closely with associated ministries and other organizations of St. Andrew, i.e. The Storehouse, Sunday School Classes, Beacon of Light, Invite Ministries, etc.
- Maintain a positive rapport with visitors, congregation, and staff
- Attend St. Andrew Staff chapel and meetings as requested

Supervisory Responsibility
This position supervises the Finance Assistants.
Physical Demands
This is mostly a sedentary position with some filing. This role requires the ability to stock and sort supplies in the workroom and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. This role delivers contribution statements to the post office as well as transporting packages to and from the Post Office on occasion.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is an exempt full-time position. Work hours are Monday – Thursday, 8:30-5:00 in the office and Friday, 8:30-1:00 remote. Occasional Sunday work or other varied hours are required around large events.
Required Education and Experience
- Associate degree or higher
- Experience in Non-Profit Fund Accounting Systems
- 3 or more years of Administrative Experience
- 3 or more years of Management Experience
- 3 or more years of Accounting/Bookkeeping Experience
- 3 or more years of Financial Management
- Able to clear a credit check
