Finance Manager – General Ledger & Tax (Pakistan & GCC)

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Manager to lead our financial accounting operations across Pakistan and the GCC region . This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for ensuring the integrity of our financial data, compliance with complex regulatory environments, and the efficiency of our month-end closing processes.

You will oversee the General Ledger (GL) function, manage all tax compliance matters, and act as the key liaison with external auditors. The ideal candidate is a qualified finance professional with deep expertise in IFRS and local tax laws, capable of managing a team while also being hands-on with reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting (General Ledger)

  • Lead the entire month-end and year-end financial closing process for Pakistan and GCC entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Oversee all general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and fixed asset accounting.
  • Review and manage balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Prepare and present accurate financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in compliance with IFRS.
  • Support the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processes by providing historical data and variance analysis.

Tax Compliance & Management

  • Ensure full compliance with all local tax regulations in Pakistan and the GCC (specifically UAE, KSA, etc.).
  • Manage the timely and accurate filing of all tax returns, including Corporate Income Tax, Value Added Tax (VAT), Withholding Tax (WHT), and Payroll-related taxes.
  • Lead tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities, managing relationships with external tax advisors.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in tax legislation across both regions and assess the impact on the business.

Audit & Internal Controls

  • Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, coordinating the annual audit process and ensuring timely completion.
  • Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial processes are robust and scalable.

Team Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise the accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline financial processes, improving efficiency and reporting capabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Operations, HR) to provide financial insights and support business decisions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CA (or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 15+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, and tax, with significant exposure to financial reporting and finalization.
  • Technical Knowledge:
  • Deep knowledge of IFRS and its application in financial reporting.
  • Strong expertise in Pakistan Tax Laws (Income Tax, Sales Tax, WHT).
  • Experience with GCC taxation (VAT, Corporate Tax) is highly preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas) and MS Office Suite.
  • Hands-on experience with major ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, QuickBooks) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
