Job Summary
The Finance Manager / Chartered Accountant is responsible for overseeing the financial health of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory regulations, financial planning, budgeting, and providing strategic insights to support business decision-making. The role involves managing accounting operations, developing internal controls, and advising management on financial strategies.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management & Reporting
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting in compliance with accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP).
- Maintain general ledger and oversee day-to-day accounting operations.
- Coordinate and manage the annual audit process.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.
- Monitor financial performance vs. budget and provide variance analysis.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial results.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, statutory filing requirements, and financial regulations.
- Manage corporate tax returns, VAT/GST, payroll taxes, and other statutory filings.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and implement necessary updates.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Conduct profitability analysis, cost control reviews, and financial modelling.
- Support strategic planning initiatives with financial data and scenario analyses.
- Assist management in investment decisions and capital expenditure planning.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure operational efficiency.
- Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, and treasury operations.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.
Internal Controls & Process Improvement
- Develop, implement, and strengthen internal financial controls.
- Improve existing accounting systems, processes, and workflow efficiencies.
- Ensure risk management practices are effectively implemented.
Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise finance and accounting staff, providing guidance and performance feedback.
- Conduct training to ensure adherence to best practices and standards.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments.
