Finance Officer – Accounts Payable (Food Manufacturing)

** About the Role & Industry Context**

As a Finance Officer focusing on Accounts Payable in a food manufacturing environment, you will play an instrumental role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of the company's supplier payments. This function supports seamless production operations and reinforces our financial governance and vendor relationships.

** Key Responsibilities**

• Invoice Processing & Verification
• Review supplier invoices for accuracy, ensuring proper authorisation (three-way matching with POs and receipts), correct coding, and compliance with internal policies before processing payments.
• Payment Execution & Scheduling
• Manage and coordinate timely payments via electronic transfers, checks, or other financial instruments. Prepare payment runs with supporting documentation and obtain required approvals.
• Vendor Reconciliation & Query Resolution
• Reconcile supplier statements with organisational records monthly; actively investigate and resolve discrepancies. Respond to vendor payment inquiries with professionalism.
• Ledger Maintenance & Reporting
• Accurately post transactions in the AP ledger or ERP system, ensuring timely month-end close contributions and preparing relevant AP reports.
• Controls & Audit Compliance
• Uphold internal control standards—such as separation of duties and dual approvals—to prevent errors or fraud. Maintain audit-ready documentation and support periodic internal or external audits.
