Business Unit Purpose

This Business unit is responsible for management reporting, Treasury, Budgeting and external reporting of EKFC and its subsidiaries.

Job Purpose:
One sentence describing the overall objective of the job and, essentially, why the job exists. The job holder is responsible for ensuring the chart of accounts, business units and financial records are correct and up to date and to provide commercial and analytical support to business by way of robust, timely and accurate financial planning for future stability, profitability and growth. The job holder will oversee accounting procedures and will prepare and interpret forecasts, budgets and risk analysis.

Key Result Areas

1. Establish, review, and enhance financial policies, procedures, and management information systems to ensure alignment with EK Group

requirements.

2. Provide accurate, timely, and insightful management reports, including KPIs and benchmarks, to support business planning and decision making.

3. Perform general ledger (GL) scrutiny and prepare technical accounting papers on key matters (such as goodwill/PPE impairment, ECL,

inventory valuation, and IFRS 16 assessments) to ensure compliance with IFRS and EK Group policy.

4. Lead monthly and periodic book closures in coordination with accounting teams to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting in line with EK Group deadlines.

5. Periodically review chart of accounts, business structures, and accounting processes to identify and implement opportunities for

simplification, efficiency gains, and stronger internal controls.

6. Maintain effective relationships with relevant internal stakeholders and external entities to uphold high ethical standards and ensure timely

resolution of critical issues impacting service delivery.

7. Identify and evaluate opportunities for improving service delivery methods and procedures by assessing resource needs and collaborating

with relevant management to implement process enhancements.

8. Contribute financial insights to strategic plans and operational reviews by meeting accounting standards, improving productivity, quality

metrics and recommending system or process improvements.

Job Context:
The Finance Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing the chart of accounts, and delivering timely business unit reporting in Compliance with IFRS and Group timeline. They provide commercial and analytical insights to support financial stability, profitability, and growth. This role oversees accounting procedures, prepares forecasts, budgets, and risk analyses, enabling management to make informed strategic and operational decisions. The Finance Specialist also ensures compliance with company policies, including Quality, Food Safety, Safety, and Environmental standards.

Knowledge, Skills & Minimum Experience

Education Qualification:
  • Bachelor*s degree in accounting or commerce or equivalent from recognised university.
  • Mandatory professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA or ACCA).
Work Experience:
  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience in finance & account and audit.
  • Exposure of working with Big-4 audit *' highly preferred
  • Advanced excel MS excel and PowerPoint
