Kardex Turkiye is growing and thus we are increasing our Finance, Controlling & Administration team based in Istanbul (Kadikoy). Our Kardex business based in Turkiye is existing since more than 25 years and continues to further increase its success in commercial intralogistics automated storage and retrieval systems solutions business!
The financial accountant is mainly in charge of end-to-end bookkeeping and accounting processes within the Finance, Controlling & Administration (FC&A) unit within a functional organization for the territory of Turkey and reporting to the FC&A director.
Other main responsibilities involve maintaining accurate statutory accounting and financial statements and ensuring compliance with local tax and trade regulations and rules, delivering and improving bookkeeping and accounting processes which leads to improvement of reporting and business controlling processes, ensuring support preparation of VAT, withholding tax, stamp tax declaration, BA/BB declarations, quarterly corporate tax returns and comply with other local reporting requirements via robust and accurate bookkeeping and controls.
In this role you are expected solid professional know-how well-founded in the areas of financial accounting and local tax laws.
In this role you are also expected to work onsite in our Kardex Istanbul office and to use English at a professional level (minimum B1) due to our corporate processes and business multinational interactions and due to the upcoming S4Hana SAP implementation program where you will be expected to play an important role in aligning local accounting to the corporate standard processes and system.
Your tasks
- Ensuring compliance with financial transaction recording standards (e.g., general ledger, cash payments/collections, tax transactions, etc.) and ensure proper month end closings, quarterly closings and year end closing following internal company processes and local applicable laws for Turkey
- Control/reconciliation of accounts and records (balance sheet, P&L, bank accounts, etc.)
- Accounting reports/schedules for internal audiences (management reporting) and/or for external audiences (compliance reporting) including consolidation of financial statements, cash flow reporting, budget reporting, etc.)
- Cost accounting/budgeting (allocation of direct/indirect costs, variance analysis, budget preparation, etc.)
- Accounts Payable/Receivable and/or Credit & Collection
- Recording and reconciling Cash & Bank transactions, interest income/expense accruals and preparation of periodic payment plans.
- Recording daily incoming invoices (purchasing, expenses, IC and others) per reporting instructions including allocation keys, cost centers and IC counterpart details and expense accruals.
- Full management of invoicing cycle (e-invoice and paper) until part of the responsibilities are handed over to the relevant team which includes preparation, revision, e-invoice system controls and bookkeeping.
- Recording and reconciling import invoices and customs documents along with packing lists via detailed excel summary tables and dashboards and local accounting software.
Your profile
Accounting/Finance previous experience of minimum 3 years in a BIG4 or in a similar role in a multinational company (ideally from a similar industry)
Bachelor’s degree with broad experience or master’s degree in accounting & finance, economics, BA or related sciences
Solid knowledge and experience in financial accounting and local Turkey tax and fiscal/accounting laws
Holding a SMMM license
Advanced Excel & MS Office suite
English - minimum intermediate B1 level (both spoken and written)
Solid communication and team collaboration skills
