Financial Accounting Analyst/Auditor

Risk Assessment Mission Statement:

The mission of Risk Assessment is to monitor the financial solvency of insurance companies licensed in the state of Ohio. Staff also monitors insurers’ statutory and solvency compliance on an ongoing basis and conducts statutory examinations.

The Office of Risk Assessment is seeking a financially minded candidate with the ability to analyze complex financial reports, review and modify data, and who can determine appropriate course of action to resolve complex issues.

What You'll Do:

Your Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Performs in-house &/or on-site financial examinations &/or analysis of domestic &/or foreign insurance companies authorized to conduct business in Ohio in order to determine financial solvency.
  • Ensures compliance with state insurance laws & rules.
  • Follows computer &/or manual examination procedures.
  • Assist with interviewing company personnel regarding accounting methodology, risks to the insurer, internal controls & other matters.
  • Writes preliminary reports of findings on assigned areas & assists in preparation of final report of examinations.
  • Limited travel to companies within & outside state of Ohio.

Qualifications
Completion of undergraduate core program in accounting, internal auditing, insurance, economics, or finance; must provide own transportation, valid drivers license.
