Position Summary: The Financial Advocate (FA) role is designed to support our smaller-volume locations, providing consistent, full-service assistance in all areas of daily operations. FAs handle a wide range of responsibilities including teller transactions, account openings, member services, and sales support. This position is essential to maintaining smooth operations, delivering excellent member experience, and driving new business through account and loan opportunities.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:- Ensure the maintenance, ordering, and balancing of vault cash to adequately supply currency dispensers and ATMs, with weekly reconciliation.
- Open and close the branch in the absence of Branch Manager.
- Evaluate and apply policies and procedures to ensure compliance within branch.
- Assist members with any question relating to any CFCU product or service, including mortgages and all electronic/digital services.
- Process a variety of financial products, including, but not limited to, new accounts, consumer and real estate loans and other services.
- Perform routine and/or complex transactions for members, including answering questions, and resolving issues efficiently.
- Identify member engagement opportunities by building relationships in person and through outbound calling to achieve established goals.
- Meet personal sales goals and contribute as a team member to achieve overall branch sales and member engagement objectives.
- Verify information for compliance and accuracy, including endorsements, dates, and identification.
- Deliver exceptional service to both external and internal members, consistently representing and upholding the credit union’s brand, vision, and mission.
- Serve as mentor for Member Service Consultants and Member Service Consultant IIs.
- Provide full-service support as required, in both teller and member services functions as needed.
- Advocate and demonstrate company brand.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent
- A two-year degree in business or equivalent work experience is preferred.
- At least one year of branch experience.
- At least one year of sales experience.
- Exceptional relationship building skills and customer service skills.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain NMLS number and ancillary insurance certifications.
- Familiar and comfortable with various brands of electronic devices- ability to show CFCU services on most devices.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing work environments and procedures.
- Ability to think independently and work in a dynamic environment.
- Acceptable background checks; credit, criminal and insurance.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements:
This position requires the employee to work indoors in a typical office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations, and the ability to stand, walk stoop, kneel, crouch and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 1-25 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application information. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with arms, talk and hear.
Hours: 40 hour work week within branch operating hours: Monday through Thursday: 8:45 am - 5:15 pm, Friday 8:45 am - 6:15 pm, Saturday 8:45 am - 12:15 pm.
