Position Description:
Analysts of the Oklahoma Attorney General's (OAG) Office are dedicated professional support staff who provide expertise in certain disciplines to assist commissioned state law enforcement officials tasked with investigating violations and alleged violations of criminal and civil Oklahoma state statutes. As the sole state law enforcement entity under the Oklahoma Attorney General, OAG Analysts and Agents have the unique investigative and prosecutorial advantage in working with and collaborating with state OAG prosecutors on a daily basis.
Vacancy Summary:
The current OAG Financial Analyst vacancy seeks to identify an individual that will support ongoing investigations assigned to the Organized Crime (OC) Division of the OAG. The OC Division is tasked with investigating matters related, but not limited, to illegal narcotics, organized retail theft, human trafficking, and cold cases. These investigative matters usually include a complex financial component within criminal activity and investigation. Some of the responsibilities of this financial analyst will include identifying means and methods by which suspected illegal proceeds or assets are laundered and transferred, identify accounts and account holders involved in these investigations, identify individuals involved in criminal activity, identify the source and ultimate destination of funds, identify all pass through entities or shell entities used to transfer assets, assist with forfeiture actions and proceedings. These investigations are frequently conducted with other federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies in a joint, collaborative environment.
Essential Functions:
- Communicate and work collaboratively with investigators and prosecutors daily.
- Acquire, review and analyze financial records.
- Assist with interviewing witnesses, victims, and suspects, and then document findings.
- Effectively and professionally research, prepare, analyze and understand complex financial information and legal issues.
- Maintain the integrity of the Attorney General’s Office as well as the confidentiality of information as required by the Attorney General.
- Ability to provide sound judgment and exhibit excellent report writing skills.
- Prepare and provide testimony in courtroom settings when required.
- Generate products that present findings in a clear and concise manner such as demonstrative aids to assist jurors.
Required Qualifications:
- Possess a valid Oklahoma driver's license
- Proficient in Word, Adobe, Excel, PowerPoint
Preference will be given to individuals with:
- A bachelor’s degree
- At least four years of investigative/analytical experience
- Accounting Experience
- Experience in financial institutions to include securities, cryptocurrency, and traditional banking
- Experience with complex financial matters
- Experience investigating financial crimes
- Financial Certifications (CFA, CPA, CFP, FRM, etc.)
- Certified Fraud Examiners
