JOB Description of Financial Analyst

1. Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Analyze historical financial data to identify trends, patterns, and variances.
  • Develop financial models to forecast revenue, expenses, and profitability.
  • Prepare budgets and monitor actual performance against planned budgets.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

2. Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Generate dashboards and visual reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance in financial reporting according to accounting standards.

3. Investment Analysis

  • Evaluate potential investments, projects, or acquisitions by performing risk and return analysis.
  • Conduct financial feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses.
  • Assess market trends, competitor performance, and economic factors impacting investment decisions.

4. Risk Management

  • Identify financial risks, including liquidity, credit, and market risks.
  • Recommend strategies to mitigate risks and optimize returns.
  • Monitor compliance with internal financial policies and regulatory requirements.

5. Business Performance Evaluation

  • Analyze operational efficiency and financial performance of different business units.
  • Provide actionable insights to improve profitability and cost management.
  • Track and assess financial metrics to measure business health and performance.

6. Collaboration and Advisory

  • Work closely with management, accountants, and other departments to provide financial guidance.
  • Support senior management in strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Communicate complex financial information in a clear, understandable manner.

7. Ad Hoc Analysis

  • Conduct special projects such as scenario planning, pricing analysis, or funding strategies.
  • Respond to management queries with data-driven insights.
  • Perform market research to support strategic initiatives.
