Financial Analyst

Our corporate office in Livonia, Michigan is currently seeking a Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. The Financial Analyst will provide support for all company owned greenhouses. This includes analyzing yield data, monitoring horticulture expenses, designing performance indicators, and providing recommendations to management to drive improvements.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for analyzing crop yields and horticulture costs for all greenhouses.
  • Maintain crop mix and timing schedules and perform analysis to maximize profitability based on climate, greenhouse structure, crop variety and sales input.
  • Design, improve, and maintain complex models for analysis.
  • Perform scenario, simulation, and sensitivity analysis when required.
  • Independently perform variance analysis summarizing key drivers, insights, and risks/ops into high-level commentary.
  • Assist in building business cases to support and guide business decisions.
  • Support periodic forecast, budget planning, month end close processes, and facilitate periodic reviews.
  • Responsible for packaging analytics for each farm
  • Analyze and interpret financial data to determine financial performance and/or to project future benefits.
  • Maintain processes to ensure data quality and accuracy.

Education/Background Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
  • Minimum 2 years of related analytical experience required.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Experienced in designing dynamic financial models in performing scenario analysis.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; including experience in cleansing and manipulating large data sets for analysis and distilling to management summaries in presentations.
  • Communications, customer service, change management, and process improvement skills and experience.
  • Proficient in analysis of financial and operating information to facilitate decision making and recommending actions to improve performance.
  • Experience in VBA and SQL preferred.
  • Experience operating in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to synthesize disparate information and deliver meaningful insights.
  • Must be flexible and willing to adapt to changing requirements and priorities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Working Conditions:

  • Typical office environment.
  • May periodically travel to visit company greenhouses in USA and Canada.
