Financial Analyst

Requirements and responsibilities

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Analyst to support Group Financial Reporting, Consolidation, and Audit activities within a fast-paced M&A organization. This role is critical in ensuring accurate consolidated reporting across multiple acquired entities operating under IFRS and ASPE frameworks.

The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting knowledge, experience in multi-entity environments, and the ability to translate financial data into meaningful business insights for senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

1. Group Financial Reporting & Consolidation

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements.

Perform full consolidation processes, including:

Intercompany eliminations

Foreign currency translation

Investment eliminations

Non-controlling interest calculations

Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial data across multiple legal entities.

Maintain and update consolidation workbooks and reporting packages.

Review subsidiary submissions for completeness and compliance with reporting standards.

Coordinate reporting timelines across acquired entities to ensure timely close.

Support group-level cash flow statement preparation.

Assist in preparation of management reporting packages for executives and investors.

Ensure proper accounting treatment for acquisitions, purchase price allocations (PPA), and goodwill calculations.

Monitor and analyze post-acquisition financial performance against deal models.

2. Financial Analysis & Performance Insights

Conduct variance analysis (Actual vs Budget, Forecast, Prior Period).

Identify key financial drivers and explain fluctuations in revenue, margins, and operating expenses.

Support preparation of Board and investor reporting decks.

Provide financial commentary to senior management.

Assist in developing KPIs and financial dashboards across business units.

Support forecasting and budgeting cycles at the group level.

3. Audit & Compliance Support

Assist with external audits by preparing audit schedules and supporting documentation.

Respond to auditor queries and coordinate responses from subsidiaries.

Prepare working papers supporting consolidated balances.

Ensure compliance with:

IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)

ASPE (Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises – Canada)

Assist in drafting technical accounting memos.

Support internal control documentation and process improvements.

Assist in implementation of new accounting standards and policies.

4. M&A Accounting & Integration Support

Assist in financial due diligence support for new acquisitions.

Support onboarding of newly acquired entities into the group reporting structure.

Standardize accounting policies across acquired businesses.

Identify integration gaps and recommend process improvements.

Support opening balance sheet alignment post-acquisition.

5. Process Improvement & Systems

Improve consolidation and reporting processes to increase efficiency and reduce risk.

Assist in ERP and consolidation tool enhancements.

Develop standardized reporting templates for subsidiaries.

Document reporting procedures and internal controls.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance
  • CPA or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial reporting and consolidation.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, and consolidation accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle (Net suite and FCCS).
