Financial Analyst – Insurance Services
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst with a strong background in benefit insurance to support financial planning, profitability analysis, and operational performance. This role plays a critical part in delivering insights that drive business decisions across product lines, distributors, and service operations.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Perform in-depth financial analysis and develop key metrics, dashboards, and KPIs
- Evaluate financial performance across product lines and distribution channels
- Analyze trends, variances, and profitability to provide actionable insights
Profitability & Cost Analysis
- Evaluate profitability by distributor and product line and identify improvement opportunities
- Conduct cost accounting analysis within a service-based organization
- Develop and enhance financial models to support pricing and strategic initiatives
Insurance & Compliance
- Ensure accuracy and compliance of census files and insurance-related data
- Support adherence to regulatory requirements within the insurance industry
- Partner with internal teams to ensure financial and operational compliance standards are met
Vendor & Operational Support
- Assist in vendor management, including cost monitoring and performance evaluation
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies
Systems & Data Management
- Utilize QuickBooks Online for financial tracking and reporting
- Build reports and visualizations using Power BI and advanced Excel tools
- Maintain and improve data integrity across financial systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, preferably within insurance or benefits
- Strong understanding of benefit insurance products (health, life, disability, etc.)
- Experience with QuickBooks Online
- Proficiency in cost accounting for service organizations
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, modeling)
- Experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tools
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in insurance
