Responsible, professional work involving financial analyses and a broad range of financial management activities, including grant administration and monthly fund reviews. Performs detailed financial management analyses; prepares, reviews, and updates monthly, quarterly, and annual financial documents, designs and improves financial and/or management systems; reviews or prepares budget requests; prepares forecasts of revenues or expenses; evaluates and issues financial reports. Work requires considerable knowledge of methods and procedures used in financial management analysis and considerable independent judgment in performing the same. May have some supervisory responsibility for professional staff and be assigned projects of a non-routine nature.


QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following:

  • A Master’s Degree in Business/Public Administration (MBA/MPA); minimum of two (2) years of professional/paraprofessional experience in governmental or commercial accounting, auditing, budgeting, financial data analytics, or financial analysis,

OR

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business/Public Administration, Economics, or related field; minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in governmental or commercial accounting, auditing, budgeting, financial data analytics, or financial analysis,

OR

  • An unrelated Bachelor’s Degree; minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in governmental or commercial accounting, auditing, budgeting, financial data analytics, or financial analysis,

OR

  • An Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business/Public Administration, Economics, or related field; minimum of five (5) years of professional experience performing governmental or commercial accounting, auditing, budgeting, financial data analytics, or financial analysis,

OR

  • Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience in governmental or commercial accounting, auditing, budgeting, financial data analytics, or financial analysis.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred qualifications include experience in/with (must specify in application):

  • Analyzing complex financial data,
  • Governmental accounting,
  • Crystal report-writing software,
  • Advantage/performance budgeting,
  • Grant management and reporting,
  • Supervising employees,
  • Developing, preparing, and monitoring budgets,
  • Reviewing agenda items,
  • Reviewing and monitoring contracts, and
  • Procurement.
