Position Summary:
Prepare, compile, analyze, interpret, and report financial data of the clinical operations. Provide financial analysis and long term projections, ratios, graphs, and profitability reviews. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.


Detailed responsibilities:
  • FINANCIAL ANALYSIS - Prepare financial analysis as directed
  • GENERAL LEDGERS - Review profitability and performance of general ledgers
  • FINANCIAL SUPPORT - Provide financial support to operational managers in clinical operations
  • RECOMMENDATIONS - Develop business and financial recommendations for management
  • RATIOS AND GRAPHS - Prepare and interpret ratios and graphs for Hospitals
  • BENCHMARKS - Generate and review benchmarks; determine appropriate benchmarks for Hospitals, and make benchmark recommendations
  • BUSINESS PLANS - Prepare or review business plans and make recommendations
  • EXPERTISE - Represent Hospitals on teams and in meetings where financial expertise is required
  • REPORTING - Collaborate with Finance and Budget Directors to maintain accurate reporting
  • ISSUE RESOLUTION - Monitor, evaluate and resolve concerns or problems identified by external (e.g., patients, visitors, vendors, payers) and internal customers (e.g., employees, volunteers) forward to appropriate departments or units for further evaluation or action
  • PROJECT MANAGEMENT - Communicate with and influence internal and external stakeholders on key project objectives to develop buy-in and realize benefits
  • FACILITATION - Facilitate hospital/medical staff departments & patient care areas in the planning, development, re-evaluation & implementation of quality improvement activities through provision of accurate & timely process & outcomes data retrieval & reporting
  • COLLABORATION - Collaborate with both clinical and non-clinical areas associated with the revenue cycle function, including to finance, quality, nursing, legal, information technology, etc; coordinate with external vendors and with other Health Sciences Center leadership including School of Medicine, University Physicians Associates, and the Cancer Research and Treatment Center

1 year hospital accounting or healthcare revenue cycle experience 1 year process improvement/project management experience
