Job Title: Trainee Analyst – Project Finance / Market Research (Debt Advisory)

About the Role:
We are hiring Trainee Analysts to join our Project Finance & Advisory team with a core focus on debt funding, market research, and financial analysis. This role is ideal for graduates looking to build a career in financial consulting and project finance, particularly on the debt side (not equity).

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing financial models for project evaluation, funding proposals, and business plans
• Conduct market and sectoral research to support project structuring
• Work extensively on MS Excel to handle data, projections, and analysis
• Format and structure documents in MS Word and PowerPoint for client and lender submissions

Required Excel skill (Must Have)

Core Skill

• Basic formulas: SUM, AVERAGE, MIN, MAX, COUNT, IF, AND, OR
• Cell referencing: Absolute ($A$1) vs relative (A1) references
• Formatting: Proper use of number formats, date formats, and consistent styling
• Data validation: Dropdowns, range checks to keep inputs clean
• Shortcuts: Fast navigation (Ctrl + →, Ctrl + Shift + ↓, etc.), paste special, etc.

Financial Formulas & Functions

Used to build calculations for project finance, valuations, etc.

• Time value of money:
• NPV(), IRR(), XNPV(), XIRR()
• Scenario & sensitivity analysis:
• CHOOSE(), OFFSET(), INDEX(), MATCH(), INDIRECT()

Data Analysis & Checks

To validate and stress-test your model:

• Conditional formatting: For quick visual checks (e.g., negative DSCR, low IRR)
• Data tables: 1-way and 2-way sensitivity analysis
• Error checks: Circularity checks, balance sheet balancing
• Audit tools: Trace Precedents, Trace Dependents, Evaluate Formula

Presentation & Dashboarding

To make models readable and bank/investor-friendly:

• Charts: Line, bar, combo charts for revenues, IRR trends, etc.
• Summary sheets: Executive summaries showing key metrics
• Formatting standards: Uniform fonts, borders, consistent decimal places
• Dynamic dashboards: With drop-downs and scenario buttons (optional but great)

Requirements:

• Post Graduate in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Management, or related field/ BE (Mechanical) with MBA in Finance/ Business.
• Strong proficiency in MS Excel is mandatory
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail, discipline, and a learning mindset

Work Mode:

• Hybrid (Work from Home + In-Office as per project need)
• Office Location: Andheri East/Chembur, Mumbai

Preferred:

• Candidates based in or around Mumbai
• Immediate or short-notice joiners

Job Types: Full-time, Internship
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: ₹8,000.00 - ₹10,000.00 per month
