Financial Analyst (Luxury Hospitality Industry)

The Financial Analyst plays an important role in supporting the financial performance and strategic planning of the organization within a luxury hospitality setting. This position is responsible for assisting with financial reporting, analysis, and operational finance functions, requiring solid knowledge of accounting practices, financial controls, and business operations. Working closely with the Finance Manager, the role contributes to accurate financial reporting, performance monitoring, and compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Finance Manager in the preparation of monthly financial statements for the property.
  • Ensure daily and monthly journal entries are accurately recorded to maintain the integrity of the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet.
  • Review General Ledger reconciliations and ensure required adjustments are completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and process related depreciation entries.
  • Support the Finance Manager in training and guiding members of the Finance team when required.
  • Contribute to the development of the annual operating budget and financial forecasts.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation during audit processes.
  • Identify cost optimization opportunities and support initiatives to improve financial performance.
  • Monitor the Food & Beverage cost control process and ensure compliance with established procedures and reporting standards.
  • Act on behalf of the Finance Manager in financial matters when required.
  • Carry out additional finance-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 7–8 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting roles, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • Professional certification such as ACCA, CIMA, or CMA (fully or partially completed) is preferred.
  • Strong experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and business planning.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey financial insights to key stakeholders.
