INTRODUCTION
Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Finance, the Financial Analyst is directly responsible for, but not limited to, performing statistical, cost and financial analysis, preparing and providing monthly, periodic and/or ad-hoc reports and dashboards. assisting with financial planning and budgeting processes, analyzing financial statements and reports, developing financial models, preparing projections, and performing research and analysis as may be required by leadership. The Financial Analyst is an integral role as it provides meaningful analyzed data used for decision making
MAJOR DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provides trends, forecasts, explaining processes and recommend actions
- Identifies financial position by comparing and analyzing results with plans and forecasts
- Assists finance leadership in budget development and financial planning
- Prepare and present detailed monthly analysis, projection reports and dashboards
- Creates variance analysis reports and financial models
- Extracts data from various systems and perform complex statistical, financial and cost accounting analysis.
- Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data
- Analyzes and interpret data, make comparative analysis
- Tracks performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives
- Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.
- Complies with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
- Assists Senior Director of Finance in preparing documents and interpreting complicated financial information for managers, executives, and C-Suite executives
- Advises on procedure and financial management to improve efficiency and maximize cost savings.
- Assists with preparation of annual audits schedules and tax returns.
- Maintains company accounting procedures and processes.
- Assists in monitoring of internal controls.
- Prepares monthly, quarterly, and year-end analysis and managements reporting needs.
- Develops financial models through benchmarking and process analysis.
- Prepares cost projections.
- Analyzes and report on current financial status.
- Conducts thorough research of historical financial data.
- Coordinates with the Senior Director of Finance and Finance team on long-term financial planning.
- Compares anticipated and actual results and identify areas of improvement.
- Participates in budgeting (for departments, grants and projects).
- Reviews accounting transactions for data accuracy.
- Establishes financial policies.
- Performs ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
- Helps identify areas of improvement along with implementation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics or related field.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in accounting, financial analysis or in the role as an accounting supervisor.
- Previous revenue cycle experience; preferably in healthcare.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Good oral, written, and telephone communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a team-oriented environment and interact well with individuals with diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds and needs.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service
- Keen attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
- Understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP).
- Proficiency with accounting software and experience with a software system implementation a plus.
- Demonstrated proficiency with business software (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite-Word, Excel, Outlook and/or PowerPoint preferred). Expertise in creating spreadsheets and using advanced formulas.
