Position Overview
The Financial Analyst supports the FP&A Manager in budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting for Etihad Rail Mobility. The role is responsible for preparing financial analyses, management reports, and variance explanations that support informed decision-making. The Financial Analyst works closely with the Accounting team, Shared Services, and operational departments to ensure financial data accuracy and timely reporting.
Roles and Responsibilities
Budgeting & Forecasting
• Assist in preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
• Coordinate with departments to collect cost assumptions, headcount plans, and operational inputs.
• Update forecast models and track spending against approved budgets.
Financial Analysis & Performance Management
• Prepare monthly management reports, variance analyses, and performance dashboards.
• Analyze revenue, cost, and margin trends to identify key drivers and improvement areas.
• Support KPI tracking and provide commentary for management presentations.
• Compile and maintain weekly and quarterly KPI dashboards across key operational and financial metrics.
Cost Control & Purchase Request Review
• Support the FP&A Manager in reviewing purchase requests for budget availability.
• Track commitments, accruals, and unbudgeted expenses, highlighting potential risks.
• Maintain up-to-date cost tracking files and cost center reports to support monthly management reviews.
Business Support
• Partner with operational teams to understand cost drivers and performance metrics.
• Provide data-driven insights to support tenders, projects, and cost-saving initiatives.
• Assist in ad-hoc analyses, scenario modelling, and management presentations.
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience
Academic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• Experience within transportation, infrastructure, or service industries is preferred.
Professional Qualifications:
• Progress toward CPA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent certification preferred
Experience:
• 1–2 years of experience in financial analysis, management reporting, or FP&A
