About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated
Controller
to lead our dedicated Food and Restaurant Accounting Group. This senior leadership position, based in our
Islamabad Office
, will be responsible for overseeing all financial reporting, management, and compliance for a portfolio of seven key U.S.-based restaurant franchise clients, including popular brands like Popeyes and Tim Hortons etc.
The ideal candidate is a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with a proven track record in financial control, team management, and proficiency in U.S. accounting principles and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
I. Client Financial Oversight & Reporting (60%)

Financial Review and Accuracy:
Oversee and conduct final review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for all assigned restaurant franchise clients to ensure accuracy, compliance with U.S. GAAP, and adherence to client-specific requirements and franchise agreements.

Performance Analysis:
Provide high-level financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend reporting, and key performance indicator (KPI) tracking relevant to the restaurant industry (e.g., Cost of Goods Sold, Labor Costs, Store-level profitability).

Client Communication:
Act as the primary point of contact for financial matters with U.S. clients, ensuring timely and professional delivery of reports and strategic financial advice.

Audit Readiness:
Ensure all client financial records are maintained to a standard of excellence, facilitating seamless external audits and tax preparation by the client’s U.S. partners.
II. Team Management & Administration (30%)

Leadership and Supervision:
Administer, manage, and provide strong leadership to the accounting team dedicated to the restaurant portfolio.

Workflow Management:
Establish and optimize efficient accounting workflows, processes, and internal controls to maximize team productivity and data accuracy.

Training and Mentorship:
Mentor and train team members on complex accounting issues, industry best practices, and effective use of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Restaurant365, Aloha).

Performance Management:
Conduct regular performance evaluations and manage workload distribution across the group.
III. Compliance & System Management (10%)

Accounting Policy:
Ensure adherence to all relevant U.S. federal and state financial regulations and tax compliance requirements for financial reporting purposes.

System Integration:
Oversee the proper integration and functioning of client POS systems, payroll systems, and general ledger software.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience

Mandatory:
Must be a
Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)
from ICAP.

Experience:
Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial control, with at least 3 years in a Senior Finance Manager/controller capacity.

Industry Preference:
Prior experience providing accounting services to U.S.-based clients, particularly in the
Food & Beverage
or
Franchise
sector, is highly preferred.

US GAAP:
Strong working knowledge and practical application of
U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
is essential.
Technical Skills

Expert proficiency in major accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and MS Excel.

Experience with integrated POS systems common in the restaurant industry.

Experience in automation and dashboard reporting.
