Financial Controller

<Job Summary>
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead our organization’s financial operations with precision and strategic insight. <Responsibilities>

  • Manage and oversee all accounting activities, including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing using advanced financial software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements and standards such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and specific regulations pertinent to non-profit and governmental accounting sectors.
  • Conduct detailed balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and month-end closing procedures to guarantee accuracy in financial statements.
  • Lead the preparation of comprehensive financial reports, including income statements, cash flow statements, and budget variance analyses that inform strategic decision-making.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls related to financial management processes to safeguard assets and ensure adherence to policies.
  • Coordinate external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations while addressing audit findings promptly.
  • Drive cash management strategies by forecasting cash flow needs, optimizing liquidity, and managing banking relationships effectively.
  • Support budgeting processes by developing financial forecasts aligned with organizational goals and tracking performance against budgets regularly.
  • Maintain expertise in technical accounting areas such as non-profit accounting standards, governmental regulations, and complex transactions involving double entry bookkeeping principles.

<Qualifications>

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in corporate accounting with a strong background in public accounting or governmental/non-profit sectors highly desirable.
  • Extensive knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance requirements, and regulatory reporting standards.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms; experience with financial management tools is essential.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, account reconciliation techniques, balance sheet management, and cash flow analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform detailed account analysis and reconcile complex accounts accurately under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent skills in financial report writing coupled with analytical thinking for effective forecasting and budgeting.
  • Exceptional attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills; ability to communicate complex financial information clearly across teams. Pay: $93,019.09 - $199,979.98 per year
