You will build the accounting backbone of a fast-scaling senior housing platform. Cima Senior Living is scaling rapidly across multiple states and building the financial infrastructure to support disciplined, long-duration growth. We are seeking a Controller who wants more than a reporting role, someone who wants to architect the accounting backbone of a multi-state operator.

The Controller will oversee all accounting operations for Cima Senior Living, ensuring accurate, timely and GAAP (audit-ready) financial reporting across multiple communities. This role is essential in building a scalable accounting infrastructure that supports community operations, regional leadership, and corporate decision-making.

Working closely with Operations, HR/Payroll, and the investment team, the Controller integrates financial data with operational performance to support real-time decision-making.

Within the first year, the Controller will establish standardized accounting processes across communities, coordinate all outsourced accounting functions, produce timely month-end closes, prepare for financial audits, and help build a unified financial system for a growing senior living operator.

- Serve as the primary point of contact for outsourced accounting firms supporting AP, reconciliations, and financial processing.

- Review deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with Cima’s accounting policies.

- Ensure outsourced teams meet month-end close timelines and quality standards.

- Coordinate workflows between community teams, corporate finance, and external providers.

- Direct outsourced partners during annual audit preparation to ensure schedules and reconciliations are audit-ready.

Audit & Compliance Oversight

- Lead preparation for annual financial audits; ensure all workpapers and schedules are completed accurately.

- Coordinate directly with external auditors, lenders, tax partners, and regulatory agencies.

- Implement and maintain internal controls supporting Medicaid billing integrity, cash management, and purchasing oversight.

Sage Intacct System Leadership

- Act as the internal Sage Intacct expert across corporate and community functions.

- Standardize chart of accounts, dimensions, approval workflows, and reporting templates.

- Automate reporting and streamline AP, procurement, and payroll integrations.

FP&A & Operational Support:

- Partner with Operations and Regional Directors to develop annual budgets and forecasts.

- Track labor, occupancy, revenue, and KPI trends; prepare variance analyses.

- Support financial integration during acquisitions, management transitions, and new community onboarding.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

- Collaborate with Executive Directors, Regional Operations, HR/Payroll, and the investment team to ensure accuracy and transparency.

-Oversee in-house accounting staff

- Provide training and guidance to community administrative staff on financial processes and controls.

- Help build scalable financial workflows that support rapid growth.

- Based in Dallas, TX (on-site presence upon office opening).

- Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with rapid expansion.
