Financial Controller

Overview
The Financial Controller will provide part-time financial oversight for Secure Accounting’s internal operations. This role focuses on maintaining accurate company financial records, monitoring revenue and expenses, supporting billing processes, and ensuring strong financial controls as the firm continues to grow.

This is a very part-time position, typically requiring 3–10 hours per week. It is well suited for an experienced accounting professional who prefers a flexible oversight role rather than a full operational accounting position. The role will begin as primarily in-office, with the possibility of transitioning into a hybrid arrangement over time.

Responsibilities

• Maintain oversight of Secure Accounting’s internal financial records
• Review and monitor company revenue, expenses, and financial activity
• Oversee internal accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Monitor billing, collections, and financial tracking
• Review bank and credit card reconciliations
• Assist with internal financial reporting and financial organization
• Provide guidance on financial controls and operational efficiency
• Support the owner with financial visibility and financial decision-making
• Identify opportunities to improve internal accounting processes
• Assist with occasional financial or operational projects as needed

Qualifications

• Proven bookkeeping or accounting experience
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks (required)
• Experience with Buildium and/or Xero preferred
• Experience managing billing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
• Strong understanding of accounting principles
• Experience working in construction, SaaS, financial services, or software industries is a plus
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• High attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills

Job Type: Contract

Pay: From $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 15.0 per week
