Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Lead the preparation of accurate financial statements, reports, and analyses that support strategic decision-making and stakeholder transparency.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and account reconciliation processes to maintain data accuracy.
- Oversee cash management activities, including forecasting, cash flow analysis, and banking relationships to optimize liquidity.
- Implement and monitor internal controls related to financial processes to safeguard assets and ensure operational efficiency.
- Coordinate external audits, regulatory reporting, and compliance reviews while maintaining thorough documentation of all financial activities.
- Utilize advanced accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms to streamline workflows and enhance reporting capabilities.
- Lead budgeting processes, variance analysis, and financial forecasting to support organizational planning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on technical accounting issues such as non-profit accounting standards or governmental accounting regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in corporate accounting with a strong understanding of financial concepts like debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Demonstrated expertise in regulatory reporting standards including GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance, and non-profit or governmental accounting practices.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar tools; experience with financial management systems is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed account analysis and financial report writing accurately.
- Knowledge of cash management strategies, account reconciliation procedures, and payroll processing systems.
- Excellent technical accounting skills with a focus on internal controls and audit readiness.
- Effective communication skills for preparing clear financial reports and collaborating across departments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred but not mandatory. Pay: $85,800.80 - $103,330.00 per year
