Financial Controller

Join our dynamic organization of multiple venues as a Financial Controller, where you will lead and oversee all aspects of financial management, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight. <Responsibilities>

  • Manage and supervise the full spectrum of accounting operations, including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Oversee financial reporting activities such as monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and timely delivery.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and account reconciliation to maintain precise financial records.
  • Lead the preparation of regulatory reports and ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards for non-profit or governmental entities if applicable.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with policies.
  • Utilize financial software such as QuickBooks, and similar tools for efficient financial management and reporting.
  • Perform cash management duties including forecasting cash flow needs and managing liquidity to support organizational operations.
  • Drive budgeting processes by developing forecasts and analyzing variances to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Conduct technical accounting research on complex transactions involving double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, or new standards.
  • Support external audits by preparing documentation and liaising with auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes.

<Qualifications>

  • Proven experience in financial management within non-profit, governmental, or public accounting environments.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance requirements, and governmental accounting standards if relevant.
  • Demonstrated expertise in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and account analysis.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms; experience with financial software integration is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of technical accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping and debits & credits.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and prepare comprehensive financial reports.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Relevant certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) are preferred but not mandatory. Pay: $70,000.00 - $93,573.13 per year
