Financial Controller - Manufacturing

<Job Summary>
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead the financial operations within a manufacturing environment. <Responsibilities>

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other regulatory requirements relevant to manufacturing operations.
  • Lead the preparation of accurate financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filings while maintaining transparency and clarity in financial report writing.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, and account reconciliation processes regularly to uphold data integrity.
  • Oversee cash management activities including forecasting, cash flow analysis, and treasury functions to optimize liquidity.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls related to double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and general ledger reconciliation to prevent fraud and errors.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during audits, ensuring all documentation is complete and audit procedures are efficiently executed.
  • Develop budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analyses that support strategic decision-making for manufacturing operations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technical accounting standards such as GAAP and IFRS; adapt policies accordingly for non-profit or governmental contexts if applicable.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives in financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy across all accounting functions.

<Skills>

  • Extensive knowledge of accounting principles including GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance, governmental accounting standards, and non-profit accounting practices.
  • Proficiency with accounting software Microsoft Dynamics Nav, strong technical accounting skills required.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial report writing, account reconciliation, balance sheet management, and account analysis.
  • Expertise in cash management strategies including forecasting and liquidity optimization within a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory reporting requirements for manufacturing companies; ability to navigate complex compliance landscapes.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data into actionable insights; solid financial acumen essential.
  • Familiarity with payroll processing systems and accounts payable/receivable management processes.
  • Ability to perform detailed account analysis using tools like Microsoft Excel or other advanced spreadsheet functions.
  • Knowledge of internal controls related to double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits procedures, and general ledger management.
  • Effective communication skills for preparing comprehensive financial reports and collaborating across departments; ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
