Position Summary
The Financial Data Analyst supports the Accounts Payable and Finance teams by analyzing payment trends, building data models, and developing Excel-based tools to improve reporting and operational efficiency. This role leverages advanced Excel functions, pivot tables, macros, and light VBA coding to automate processes, analyze financial data, and respond to ad-hoc analytical requests.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis & Reporting
Analyze historical Accounts Payable payment data to identify trends and predict future payment activity.Create and maintain pivot tables and calculated fields to support ad-hoc data analysis requests.Develop data summaries, reports, and dashboards to help stakeholders understand financial activity.Provide insights and recommendations based on payment trends and operational data.
Excel Automation & Tool Development
Build and maintain Excel-based systems and models used for tracking and analyzing financial data.Develop and maintain macros and light VBA code to automate repetitive tasks and improve workflow efficiency.Utilize advanced Excel formulas to structure and analyze large datasets.
Data Management
Organize, clean, and structure financial datasets to ensure data accuracy and usability.Create scalable data structures that allow users to visualize and interact with financial
data.Support ongoing improvements to financial reporting processes.
Ad-Hoc Analysis
Respond to ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests from finance and operational
teams.Design custom analytical views using pivot tables, formulas, and filters.
Required Skills
Advanced Microsoft Excel expertise including:
