Financial Systems Data Analyst I
Location: Washington, DC / Capitol Hill (on-site)
Clearance: Must be a US Citizen and able to pass a background check

This is not a finance role, it is supporting the finance team in data analytics requiring heave advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, Vlookup, charts, graphs, data visualization.

No relocation will be provided for this role.

General Requirements:
  • Must be able to follow directions, and function effectively as part of a team or independently.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the legislative environment is beneficial.
  • Business casual attire.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal history records check (or other applicable security clearance).
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work with high-profile customers (Members of Congress and staff).
  • The ability to effectively communicate in English through strong oral and written skills.
  • Detail oriented and well organized with the ability to multi-task, in a high paced environment.

Deliverables
  • Accurate, timely KPI dashboards and budget reports.
  • Data summaries and visualizations supporting leadership briefings.
  • Trend analyses and ad hoc data products to support operational assessments.

Job Description
  • Collect, organize, and maintain operational and financial data from multiple directorates and service teams.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports and metric dashboards for leadership review.
  • Conduct preliminary data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and areas requiring management attention.
  • Compile and summarize customer service survey data, including preparing visual reports and recommendations for improvements.
  • Track and reconcile budget execution data, ensuring comparison between actual and projected figures is up to date.
  • Develop charts, tables, and visualizations for presentations and reports provided to the senior leadership.
  • Support ad hoc data requests to inform process improvement initiatives, operational assessments, and decision-making.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (to include but not limited to creating and managing spreadsheets with the use of formulas and functions in Excel, creating and formatting Word documents, and design and delivery of PowerPoint presentations)
  • Perform various tasks as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or data analytics
  • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite – Advanced Excel functions a must
