Northramp is seeking a Financial Operations (FinOps) Analyst to support a client in the federal health sector, focused on enabling data-driven decision-making across a complex, multi-cloud federal program. This person would be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting program-related cost data with rigor and precision.
The FinOps Analyst will apply Financial Operations principles and frameworks to cloud cost and usage data from major cloud service providers (CSPs), producing both detailed technical analyses and high-level executive summaries that translate complex datasets into actionable insights for technical teams and agency leadership. This role also supports the development of dashboards, documented policies, and best practices that guide consistent, repeatable, and transparent data analysis efforts across the program.
This role is remote-first, with a preference for candidates in Virginia, Maryland, or Washington DC, allowing for limited onsite customer and team interaction.
Analyze cost and usage data from cloud service providers (CSPs) using FinOps-aligned frameworks, including detailed cost allocation, reporting, and optimization metrics.
Identify cost trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improved financial transparency and efficiency.
Develop cost allocation models and support financial governance for cloud resource utilization.
Evaluate and analyze program performance data including onboarding metrics, training metrics, Cloud Lab usage data, survey results, and other operational datasets.
Produce both detailed technical analyses and high-level executive summaries that translate complex datasets into actionable insights for technical and leadership audiences.
Apply FinOps principles, practices, and frameworks to support cloud cost management, cost optimization, and improved financial accountability across the program.
Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations that clearly communicate program performance, cost trends, and operational insights.
Support strategic planning and program decision-making through structured data analysis and evidence-based recommendations.
Prior experience supporting the federal health sector (HHS/NIH).
U.S. Citizenship and the ability to successfully pass a federal background investigation.
Bachelor's Degree or higher at an accredited college or university
Demonstrated experience collecting, integrating, and analyzing complex financial datasets from multiple technical and operational sources.
Experience analyzing cloud service provider (CSP) cost and usage data.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations.
FinOps Certified Practitioner or other relevant cloud financial management certification. '
Experience supporting large-scale cloud programs or enterprise cloud environments.
Experience with data visualization and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Master's degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
